Admissions Policy

School Policy

Grange Primary School meets the Government’s criteria to admit children into school the academic year they will turn five.

Admissions Procedure

Each school has a published ‘number intended to admit’ (NIA) compiled by Essex County Council. Our number is 45. Families must apply through Essex County Council for their place in their preferred school. In the event of over-subscription within any of the county criteria (e.g. siblings and priority admissions area); priority will be given to looked after children and exceptional medical circumstances which must be supported by medical evidence.

Appeals

Parents will have the right of appeal for a place at a school that they had put as a preference and for which they had not been allocated a place provided that it was a higher preference than the school at which a place had been offered.

Visits

The School will provide personal introductory sessions during the Autumn term prior to the closing date for Early Years admissions.

Bumped Heads

As you may have seen-we have been supplying wristbands in the event of a child bumping their head (along with a "Bumped Head" letter).  This is to make you immediately aware should your child become poorly-that they have had a "Bump" in school.

Once you have seen the band then please remove it for the following day.

Many thanks.
