Partnerships and Links

We have many partnerships both locally and abroad, all of them enable us to support the quality of learning and teaching in our school and other education establishments.

Community Learning

Grange School offers many opportunities for community and family education as it strives to inspire life long learning. Through workshops, workshares, open afternoons and other special events families are encouraged to share in their children's learning experiences and hopefully continue their own learning. We offer a variety of family learning activities including A Fairtrade Internet cafe, Family Fitness club, African drumming and an Adult Art club. Recently the school decided to have an art event called 'Yarnbombing' which included children, parents, grandparents, neighbours and friends in making woollen items to be displayed.

Wickford Collaborative Learning Centre

This very special building has been part of the joint education facilities in Wickford for over 3 years. The town schools work together at the Centre (CLC); planning and sharing expertise, using the 21st Century technology to provide exciting, creative shared pupil learning experiences.

Billericay School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

Grange School is part of this outstanding in-school teacher training provider. Not only do we host students in classes, providing them with mentors and developing their teaching and learning skills; we also provide staff to lecture on the Creative Curriculum (a MA module), Classroom Management, Art and DT.  If anybody is interested in becoming a teacher then log onto www.billericayscitt.com for all the information you will need.

International School Links

Grange always welcomes students and staff from around the world, through County, University and International programmes. Over the years we have had visitors from China, Spain, France and Ghana. All our visitors and international links support the exciting Global learning Grange feels is important for citizens of the 21st Century.

Grange has had very strong links with a school in the Upper East Region of Ghana for ten years. A partnership agreement between Logre School and Grange is constantly monitored. Staff  incorporated global studies in the thematic curriculum and use any international links to bring the learning alive. Recipricol visits of staff to both Ghana and UK help make it relevant and meaningful.

UK School Links

Grange is part of an active Local group of Wickford schools who work together; whilst at the CLC, during sports partnership events and competitions, Extended Schools activities, School Council Days and special Town Arts Festivals. The collaborative nature of all these activities help the children and families of Wickford to support each other and the positive results have been commented on by our local Police.

Charity partnerships

Grange School prides itself on being a supportive member of the world community; locally, national and internationally. Throughout the year, instigated with ideas from families, pupils and staff, we have special events to highlight and raise money for various charities. Local hospices are often supported with production donations; Children in Need and Comic Relief are regularly on the school calender. We have a weekly Fairtrade cafe to support our Ghana School Link. Other exciting activities are arranged when the need arises.

Here is a flyer from the charity AfriKids that has been sent to Year 5 & 6 Grange Primary children to thank them for the money they raised from their 12 hour night sleep over. The project to be supported by the £560 raised is the street children's 'Night Rabbits School' in Bolgatanga.

AfriKids Thank You
