Year 6 Residential

The Year 6 Residential Trip for 2019 will be at Bawdsey Manor in Suffolk.  We will be going from the 12th-14th June.  The total cost of the trip is £275 which is payable in monthly or weekly installments, whichever is most convenient.   Full payment is due by the end of March 2019.

For your future reference, please find below additional information regarding the trip which you will need nearer the time.

  • Children may bring £5 spending money in a clearly named purse or wallet to be handed in to the staff in the hall on the morning of the trip for safe keeping.
  • Ensure your medical form is completed and return to the office by 6th June 2019 (if you need a further copy of this form please click the link on the right). Medical Form
  • Please ensure you include all medication listed on the form. Any medication the children need should be brought into school on the morning of the 12th June and should be labelled with your child’s name (remember travel sick tablets for the return trip).

Below is the kit list, please ensure every item is clearly labelled with your child’s name and the name of our school. The children will need a packed lunch & drinks for the journey please put in a plastic bag to be thrown afterwards.

No expensive clothing or equipment is required, we suggest that jeans are not brought, except maybe for the disco, as they are not warm or comfortable, especially when wet.

Bedding ie: sleeping bag or duvet plus pillow
Single Bed Sheet
Night clothes
Several changes of underwear
Several pairs of socks (as they way get wet during daytime activities)
At least 2 jumpers or fleeces
At least 3 pairs of old trousers (tracksuit /jogging are best)
An outfit for the disco
Shorts
Several t-shirts
Swimwear
At least 2 towels
At least two pairs of trainers and a pair of shoes (as they way get wet during daytime activities)
Waterproof coat
Hat & gloves
Sunhat & sun cream
Wash bag
Drink /water bottle
Black sack (or similar) for wet clothes
Books, comics, magazines & travel games for journey

NO electronic games devices, mobiles, iPods etc. (we cannot keep them secure)

All kit needs to be in 1 suitcase or bag please plus a hand luggage bag for bits & bobs on the bus.

Children in Need - "Spotty" Day

Friday 16th November is Children in Need Day.  Bring a donation into school on that Friday and come to school wearing anything/everything "Spotty".  Dont forget sensible shoes and a coat as the children will still be going outside.  Thank you for your support.

New Intake - Parent Tours

We will be holding 4 tours for our new September 2019 intake.  These will take place on:
15th October at 1.45pm
5th November at 1.45pm
26th November at 1.45pm
7th January 2019 at 1.45pm
Please call the school office to book a place.  Please note that due to space we cannot accomodate prams/pushchairs. Thank you

PLEASE NOTE it is the responsibility of parents to apply for a school place at the correct time.  You will not receive any letters from Essex County Council to inform you that you must apply for your child's school place. 
 
*  From the 12th November 2018 you can apply online for your child's primary school place.
*  You must submit an application by the national closing date 15th JANUARY 2019

FLOOD !

If you can, please pop along to St Andew's Church between the 20-22 September as they are holding an exhibition in relation to the Flooding which took place in Wickford in 1958.  Entry is free and there will be lots of interesting photos, films and articles from the Wickford Community for you to take a look at.
